BANGKA BARAT -- After previously holding a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on updating the Community Development and Empowerment Master Plan (RIPPM) document in Bangka Regency, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk has continued the process of preparing this strategic document in West Bangka Regency.

The latest RIPPM update FGD was held at Wisma Sriwijaya, Processing and Refinery Division Muntok, on Thursday (May 5, 2026). This activity is part of the company's ongoing commitment to ensure that community empowerment programs remain relevant to the needs of people in its operational areas.

Through this forum, PT TIMAH opened a space for dialogue with stakeholders to gather aspirations, evaluate the implementation of existing empowerment programs, and formulate policy directions that are more adaptive to the social and economic dynamics of the community.

In West Bangka Regency, the RIPPM update discussions focused on five main pillars: education, health, real income improvement, economic independence, and environmental preservation.

The forum was conducted interactively, involving various stakeholders ranging from representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Energy and Mineral Resources Office of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, the West Bangka Regency Government, to sub-district and village administrations. The presence of these stakeholders is expected to strengthen synergy in designing targeted and sustainable community empowerment programs.

The Department Head of Corporate Communication of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk stated that this FGD serves as a platform to gather aspirations and foster collaboration among stakeholders in formulating community empowerment programs aligned with regional development.

"This FGD is an important momentum for PT TIMAH to absorb aspirations from all stakeholders, including regional and village governments, in efforts to build and empower communities in the West Bangka area," he said.

He expressed hope that the RIPPM drafting process would generate constructive, open, and solution-oriented discussions, so that the resulting programs are not only sustainable but also deliver real impacts on improving community welfare.

"We hope that through the preparation of this RIPPM, program formulations will emerge that truly address community needs and provide tangible benefits for improving the welfare of the people in West Bangka," he added.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of West Bangka Regency, Abimanyu, appreciated PT TIMAH's initiative in once again involving local governments and communities in the process of updating the RIPPM document.

"Thank you to PT TIMAH for conducting this public consultation. This is a form of collaboration between the company, the regency government, sub-districts, and villages, considering that PT TIMAH's operational activities are also located in West Bangka," he said.

According to Abimanyu, the preparation of the RIPPM is important because it will serve as the foundation for long-term community empowerment programs. Therefore, he emphasized that input from various parties is essential to ensure that the programs truly address community needs.

"Through this forum, we can discuss priority programs needed by the community, whether in the livestock sector, agriculture, SMEs, or other sectors. The hope is that the programs formulated will be sustainable and provide real benefits for the people of West Bangka," he concluded. (*)
