Commitment to Environmental Management, PT TIMAH Reclaims Hundreds of Hectares of Post-Mining Land in Bangka Belitung 16 April 2026 SHARE PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainable environmental management by carrying out both land and marine reclamation in the company's operational areas. In 2025, PT TIMAH reclaimed 354.05 hectares of post-mining land as part of its land reclamation efforts in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. In 2026, the TINS-listed company has proposed a reclamation plan covering 411.16 hectares, which will be implemented across six regencies as well as cross-regency areas in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. PT TIMAH's commitment to reclamation is part of the company's strategy to ensure that its mining activities are not solely focused on economic aspects, but also take into account environmental sustainability and ecosystem preservation. Through land reclamation, PT TIMAH fulfills both its regulatory obligations and moral responsibility to restore the function of post-mining land so that it can become productive again and provide benefits to the community. Land reclamation will be carried out gradually, in accordance with work plans and field conditions. The program begins with integrated planning stages, including site surveys, community outreach, land recontouring (regrading), topsoil management, and revegetation or planting. In addition to planting fast-growing species, the company also prioritizes productive plants and native species to support biodiversity restoration and create economic opportunities for surrounding communities. The Department Head of Corporate Communication of PT TIMAH, Anggi Siahaan, stated that reclamation is an integral part of the company's business process. "Reclamation is not only a regulatory obligation, but also a reflection of the company's commitment to maintaining environmental balance. We strive to ensure that post-mining land can function again, whether as green areas, productive land, or other uses that provide added value to the community," he said. In addition to land reclamation, PT TIMAH is also carrying out various other environmental management programs in parallel, such as watershed rehabilitation, mangrove planting, and biodiversity conservation programs. Through these concrete efforts, PT TIMAH reaffirms its commitment to conducting operations in accordance with good mining practices while contributing to sustainable development in Bangka Belitung.
