Universal New Energy Holding Group, Inc. Announces UL 1973 Certification from TÜV Rheinland for Its 20Ah Semi-Solid-State Lithium-Ion Cell with an Energy Density of 515 Wh/kg, Supporting Access to the U.S. and Canadian Markets

The 20Ah cell has been certified to ANSI/CAN/UL 1973:2022, the North American safety standard for batteries used in stationary energy storage, auxiliary power, light electric rail and similar applications. The certification is also the Company’s first North American product safety certification.

Universal New Energy Holding Group, Inc. (OTC: UNEH) (the “Company”) announces that its subsidiary’s 20Ah semi-solid-state lithium-ion cell (model 8489109-20Ah) has been certified by TÜV Rheinland of North America, Inc. to ANSI/CAN/UL 1973:2022. The cell has a nominal voltage of 3.84 V, a rated capacity of 20Ah and an energy density of 515 Wh/kg, and is a high-end model in the Company’s semi-solid-state cell product line. The product line spans energy densities from 190 Wh/kg to over 500 Wh/kg, and some of its products have passed UN38.3 transport testing and completed customer validation in fields such as low-altitude aircraft (eVTOL), humanoid robots and electric two-wheelers.

The subsidiary that holds the certificate, Zhejiang Leading Universal New Energy Co., Ltd. (浙江领亿环球新能源有限公司, “Zhejiang Lingyi”), is also the subsidiary responsible for cell research, development and production under the strategic cooperation with Tianqing Zhixing announced by the Company on September 14, 2026, which covers the branded sales and overseas export of semi-solid-state battery system products.

UL 1973 sets the safety requirements for rechargeable batteries used in energy storage systems, uninterruptible power supplies, vehicle auxiliary power, rail transit and other applications, and it is the battery standard on which UL 9540 certification of energy storage systems relies. TÜV Rheinland of North America is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) recognized by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and a product certification body accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), and its cTUVus mark is recognized by authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) across the United States and by provincial regulators across Canada.

The certification demonstrates that the cell combines high energy density with high safety, making it suitable for applications with demanding performance and safety requirements, such as low-altitude aircraft and humanoid robots. Customers designing battery packs and systems for the North American market can adopt the certified cell directly, simplifying their own certification work. The Company believes that North American safety certification of one of its highest-energy-density cells will strengthen its competitiveness in customer qualification and support its efforts to serve the U.S. and Canadian markets.
