Universal New Energy Holding Group, Inc. Announces UN38.3 Certification for High-Capacity 314Ah and 324Ah Prismatic LFP Cells
UNEH’s high-capacity aluminum-shell prismatic LFP cells have achieved transportation certification, supporting commercialization of battery solutions with energy densities of up to 190Wh/kg and cycle life exceeding 12,000 cycles.
Universal New Energy Holding Group, Inc. (OTC: UNEH) (the "Company") announces that its Gen 4 314Ah and Gen 5 324Ah aluminum-shell prismatic LFP cells have successfully passed UN38.3 transportation safety testing, an internationally recognized standard for lithium battery shipment. The certification supports commercial shipment readiness and advances the Company’s efforts to commercialize high-capacity battery solutions for electric vehicle (“EV”) and energy storage system (“ESS”) markets. The platform combines energy densities of up to 190Wh/kg with cycle life exceeding 12,000 cycles.
The Gen 4 and Gen 5 designations reflect the cells’ positioning within broader industry generations of high-capacity LFP technology, with newer generations generally characterized by improvements in performance, energy density, and manufacturing efficiency.
“Transport qualification is one of the practical steps potential customers consider when evaluating higher-capacity battery platforms,” a Company spokesperson said. “For high-capacity LFP applications, safety, cycle life, and system-level performance are critical considerations. This certification further supports customer qualification, shipment planning, and commercialization efforts for our 314Ah and 324Ah battery platforms.”
Business Significance
Large-format prismatic LFP cells can reduce pack complexity by lowering the number of cells, interconnections, and associated components required to achieve a target energy capacity. UNEH’s 314Ah and 324Ah cells combine high energy density, long service life, and transport qualification, making them suitable for battery systems where durability, operational efficiency, and logistics readiness are important considerations. Applications include EV, ESS, commercial mobility platforms, and other large-format battery deployments. Commercialization remains subject to customer validation, production-scale qualification, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Highlights
314Ah Gen 4 LFP Cell (ES72173206-314Ah): 1004.8Wh energy capacity, 180Wh/kg energy density, and cycle life exceeding 12,000 cycles.
324Ah Gen 5 LFP Cell (ES56200218-324Ah) : 1043Wh energy capacity, 190Wh/kg energy density, and cycle life exceeding 12,000 cycles.
Transport Qualified: Both models successfully passed applicable UN38.3 Revision 8, Subsection 38.3 testing requirements.
Technical Reference
Supporting documentation includes UN38.3 laboratory test summaries, material safety data sheets (MSDS), and applicable transport classification reports. These materials are available for review as part of customer qualification and commercialization discussions.
