Mr. Ackert began his career as a regional geologist with St. Joe Minerals, Bond Gold Canada and LAC Minerals in the 1980s. In 1990 he became mine geologist at LAC Minerals’ Golden Patricia Mine (Barrick Gold Corp after 1994) where he specialized in production and exploration. In 1996 he was appointed VPEx for Orezone Resources Inc. focusing on West Africa and was subsequently named VP Technical Services in 2005. Mr. Ackert was a co-founder of C3 Metals, a successful explorer for copper in Peru and Jamaica where several significant porphyries and skarns have been discovered. Mr. Ackert holds a BSc. In Geology from the University of Toronto.

James Cross is a management consultant with capital markets experience in North America, Europe, the Middle East and South Asia. He served as President and CEO of Canadian Gold Resources, Ltd. from 2012–2017. In 2017, Canadian Gold Resources was sold to Colibri Resources (TSX-V: CBI) on a share transaction basis valued at $4,000,000. He also served as Director and Vice-president of Corporate Development for Adroit Resources from 2010 – 2011, then listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. He has also acted as consultant to a number of resource companies. In 1989, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from the A.B Freeman School of Business, Tulane University.

Mr. Bliss has over 20 years experience in the mineral exploration industry having studied geology at the University of New Brunswick. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Bliss was an independent consulting geologist responsible for exploration projects for Nuna-Minerals A/S, in Nuuk, Greenland and, in 2000, for Crew Development in Norway. In Greenland, he worked in some of the most remote and rugged terrain using a model driven approach to efficiently explore large tracts of land despite short explorations seasons. Mr. Bliss implemented a similar approach at Northern Shield to generate nickel projects that subsequently resulted in partnerships and investments with major mining companies including Impala, South 32, Teck. It was under his guidance that Northern Shield became known around the world as a leader in grass roots exploration for Nickel, Copper and the Platinum Group Elements. It was his understanding of exploration models that led to Northern Shield acquiring a unique epithermal gold project here in the Burin Peninsula they call Root & Cellar. Mr. Bliss has served as President of Northern Shield since its inception in 1999.
