Press Release Bumi Resources Receives Prestigious 2025 Business and Human Rights Award Jakarta, 5 December 2025 - PT Bumi Resources Tbk ("Company" or "Bumi Resources") (IDX: BUMI), the world's largest thermal coal exporter and one of Indonesia's leading natural resources companies, has once again earned national recognition by receiving a prestigious award at the 2025 Business and Human Rights (BHAM) Awards, organized by the SETARA Institute and SIGI Research and Consulting, with support from the Tarumanagara Foundation, in Jakarta (26/11).The award is based on the results of the Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) Benchmark, in which Bumi Resources achieved the highest score among 18 mining companies assessed, with a total score of 73, a BB rating, and the designation of Business and Human Rights (BHR) Improving Company. This recognition highlights the Company's significant progress in advancing responsible business and human rights practices.
As part of its commitment to human rights, Bumi Resources has established a comprehensive Human Rights Policy that is integrated into its corporate governance framework, approved by the Board of Directors, and implemented across the supply chain. This commitment is operationalized through a clear human rights management structure, including a cross-functional Human Rights Coordination Team, formed under Board of Directors Decree No. 478/BR-BOD/XII/18.
Since 2022, Bumi Resources has conducted ongoing Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD), covering the identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and communication of human rights risks. The process includes social mapping, community consultations, environmental and social impact assessments, reviews of impacts on vulnerable groups, and structured coordination across relevant units.
In addition to preventive measures, Bumi Resources ensures the availability of effective remediation mechanisms through multiple grievance channels, including a whistleblowing system, hotline, bipartite forums, and internal reporting mechanisms related to occupational health and safety as well as industrial relations. These grievance systems are designed to meet the effectiveness criteria outlined in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).
Through two consecutive years of HRDD implementation, Bumi Resources' two main subsidiaries, KPC and Arutmin, have demonstrated strong compliance with international human rights standards, including the UNGPs, the International Bill of Human Rights, and ILO Conventions, achieving compliance levels of over 80%.
"Bumi Resources extends its gratitude for this recognition. This award is not only an important achievement for the Company but also reinforces our moral responsibility to strengthen business practices that respect, protect, and fulfill human rights across all operations," said Tofan Wibisono, Deputy Chairman of the Bumi Resources Human Rights Coordinator Team.
The BHAM 2025 award serves as a reminder that advancing human rights is a continuous journey. Moving forward, Bumi Resources remains committed to further enhancing its human rights governance, strengthening due diligence processes, increasing transparency, and ensuring that its operations generate positive impacts for employees, communities, and the environment. Early next year, the Company will also conduct a Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) initiative, which will place greater emphasis on environmental aspects as part of integrating human rights and sustainability across its operations.
Bumi Resources believes that responsible business is built on a foundation of respect for human rights. The trust and recognition received serve as motivation for the Company to continue delivering meaningful contributions to sustainable development in Indonesia.
