PT Bumi Resources Tbk : Bumi Resources Earns A+ Rating in Indonesia Public Companies Sustainability Reporting Study

Jakarta, 24 December 2025 - PT Bumi Resources Tbk ("Company" or "BUMI"), the world's largest thermal coal exporter and one of Indonesia's leading natural resources companies, has earned an A+ rating in the Indonesia Public Companies Sustainability Reporting Study conducted by The Foundation for International Human Rights Reporting Standards (FIHRRST). The rating was announced during an award ceremony held at Veranda Hotel Pakubuwono, Jakarta (16/12). The assessment was conducted with reference to OJK Regulation No. 51/2017, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, and the integration of human rights principles in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).

Based on the FIHRRST study, BUMI was recognized as one of the companies with the highest-quality sustainability reporting, particularly in the areas of governance, transparency, human rights and environmental risk management, and alignment with national and international regulatory frameworks. These include Indonesia's National Strategy on Business and Human Rights (STRANAS-BHAM) and the European Union's Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).

As part of its commitment to respecting human rights, BUMI has implemented a human rights policy integrated into its corporate governance framework and approved by the Board of Directors. The policy's implementation is further strengthened through a cross-functional Human Rights Coordination Team, established pursuant to Board of Directors' Decree No. 478/BR-BOD/XII/18.

Throughout 2022-2023, BUMI consistently carried out Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD), covering the identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of human rights risks. The HRDD process was conducted through social mapping, community consultations, environmental and social impact assessments, and evaluations of vulnerable groups. In addition, BUMI provides multiple grievance and remediation channels, including a whistleblowing system, hotline, bipartite forums, as well as complaint mechanisms related to occupational health and safety (OHS) and industrial relations.

BUMI's two main operating subsidiaries, Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) and Arutmin Indonesia, recorded compliance levels exceeding 80% against international standards such as the UNGPs, the International Bill of Human Rights, and ILO Conventions, a key factor supporting BUMI's achievement of the highest rating in the FIHRRST study.
