Press Release Bumi Resources Subsidiary KPC Wins Two Platinum Awards at the Indonesian SDGs Awards 2025 Jakarta, 30 December 2025 - PT Bumi Resources Tbk ("BUMI"), the world's largest thermal coal exporter and one of Indonesia's leading natural resources companies, has once again received national recognition through its subsidiary, PT Kaltim Prima Coal ("KPC"), which secured two Platinum awards at the Indonesian SDGs Awards (ISDA) 2025.
The awards were presented during the ISDA 2025 awarding ceremony held on 17 December 2025 at Birawa Hall, Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta, by representatives of the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia, alongside the ISDA Expert Committee and Assessment Committee.
At this year's ISDA, KPC received Platinum awards for SDGs 4.3 and SDGs 4.a (Social Pillar) in recognition of the Company's sustained commitment and implementation of programs aimed at improving the quality of education and access to learning in Kutai Timur Regency. In addition, KPC's MSME partner, Surtini Eka Saputri, was also recognized with the Best Practitioner on SDGs award.
These achievements reflect KPC's long-term commitment to human capital development and community capacity building, particularly through investments in educational infrastructure, the provision of learning support facilities, and skills development programs for the local workforce.
From 2012 to 2024, KPC consistently implemented education development programs across its ring 1 operational areas, covering Sangatta Utara, Sangatta Selatan, Rantau Pulung, and Bengalon. These initiatives reached both formal and non-formal educational institutions, including schools for children with disabilities, out-of-school children, and madrasahs, as part of an inclusive development approach.
Over the 2012-2024 period, a total of 53 schools benefited from KPC's education programs, comprising 38 schools supported through infrastructure development and 15 schools through the provision of learning support facilities.
Beyond education, KPC has also implemented the Apprentice Welder Program since 2022, in collaboration with local governments and vocational training institutions, to address industry-standard workforce needs. The program has engaged 44 participants, with 86% of graduates successfully employed, and has achieved a "Very Good" Community Satisfaction Index rating.
These recognitions further strengthen the position of KPC and BUMI as industry players that not only prioritize operational performance, but also deliver tangible contributions to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and sustainable social development.
