About this update from Pt Bukit Asam (persero) Tbk

JAKARTA, September 11, 2025 - PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), a member of the mining SOE Holding, recorded solid operational and financial performance in the first half of 2025. The company recorded increases in revenue, production volume, and sales despite ongoing challenges in the global market. In the first six months of 2025, PTBA posted consolidated revenue of IDR 20.45 trillion, up 4% from IDR 19.64 trillion in the same period last year. This growth was also supported by a 2% increase in the company's assets, rising from IDR 41.79 trillion as of December 31, 2024, to IDR 42.68 trillion as of June 30, 2025. PTBA's Finance Director, Una Lindasari, stated that despite facing a challenging market environment, the company still managed to record a net profit of IDR 833.05 billion, with EBITDA reaching IDR 2.20 trillion. This achievement was driven by improved operational performance during the first semester. "Looking ahead, PTBA will continue to focus on cost efficiency, enhancing asset performance, and expanding a sustainable business portfolio," she explained. PTBA's coal production volume reached 21.73 million tons, a 16% increase from 18.76 million tons in the first half of 2024. Total coal sales from January to June 2025 amounted to 21.62 million tons, up 8% compared to 20.05 million tons in the same period last year. Of the total sales, 54% were allocated to the domestic market, while 46% were for exports. Despite a decline in demand from major export markets such as China, PTBA maintained strong sales performance by expanding its export reach to countries like Bangladesh, India, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand. Commitment to Renewable Energy As a tangible expression of its commitment to the energy transition and the 2060 Net Zero Emission target, PTBA continues to expand its business portfolio in the new and renewable energy (NRE) sector. This initiative aligns with the company's vision to become a world-class energy company that is environmentally conscious. On June 17, 2025, through its subsidiary PT Bukit Energi Investama (BEI), PTBA officially began operations of the 303.1 kWp Timah Industri Solar Power Plant (PLTS) located in the Cilegon Industrial Estate. This project is the result of a strategic collaboration between BEI (investor), PT Krakatau Chandra Energy (area manager and EPC contractor), and PT Timah Industri (energy user). With the operation of this solar power plant, PTBA's total installed capacity now reaches 1 megawatt-peak (MWp), marking a concrete step towards a low-carbon and sustainable business. Through the Timah Industri solar power plant project, PTBA reaffirms its role as a pioneer in building a clean energy ecosystem and actively contributes to achieving the national renewable energy targets. This synergy among state-owned enterprises is expected to serve as an inspiring model for similar collaborations in supporting energy resilience, in line with the government's Asta Cita vision and Indonesia's environmental sustainability goals. Coal Downstreaming into Potassium Humate In line with its commitment to support the government's national food self-sufficiency program, PTBA, in collaboration with Gadjah Mada University (UGM), inaugurated a potassium humate production facility on August 21, 2025. Potassium humate is a derivative product of low-calorie coal that serves as a soil conditioner and biofertilizer. This product plays a vital role in improving the productivity of agricultural and plantation lands and aligns with the government's mandate on downstream industrial development. According to PTBA's Director of Downstreaming and Product Diversification, Turino Yulianto, downstreaming remains a core commitment of the company. "Potassium humate is our contribution to the nation-delivering unceasing energy," he stated.
