In this role, he will be responsible for the Group's trading and sales activities in power, natural gas and LNG, as well as renewable and low-carbon commodities. In addition, he will drive the further strategic realignment of Uniper's commodity trading business. He succeeds Dr. Carsten Poppinga, who has already left the company. Christian Ohlms joins Uniper from SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH, where he has served as one of two Managing Directors since the beginning of 2024. His career includes positions at McKinsey & Company in Frankfurt and New York, RWE Supply & Trading, Innogy Grid & Infrastructure, and E.ON. In his previous role as Managing Director of SEFE, he was jointly responsible for the company's commercial strategy and held P&L responsibility for the Infrastructure Division. He has extensive experience in both financial and physical energy trading, asset-based optimisation, and the sales of power and gas. He also has experience in investments in energy-related assets.
