She will report to Florian Dötterl, Executive Vice President Corporate Communication & Governmental Relations. Most recently, she headed the press office at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in Berlin. Birgit Korte studied media studies in Siegen and Bonn, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in 2014. She then worked as a freelance journalist before joining the press office of the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2016. In 2020, she was first appointed Deputy Head of the Press Office and in 2022 Head of the Press Office and Editor-in-Chief of the State Chancellery. In October 2025, she moved to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, where she most recently served as spokesperson to Federal Minister Katherina Reiche.
