- Milestone product goes to Salzburg professional fire department
- Powerful, robust truck-mounted fire pump with ergonomic operation
- Delivery rate from 1,500 to 5,500 l/min at 10 bar and up to 400 l/min at 40 bar
A milestone for Rosenbauer: the 20,000th truck-mounted pump of the N and NH series was recently manufactured at the Group's main plant in Leonding. This milestone model was installed in a firefighting vehicle and delivered to Salzburg professional fire department. The pump series has been one of the most successful in Rosenbauer's portfolio for years and is in use in thousands of firefighting vehicles worldwide. The N and NH pumps are at the heart of many Rosenbauer vehicles. They have proven their worth in the day-to-day work of fire departments for many years.
The range includes normal pressure pumps as well as combined normal and high-pressure pumps. Depending on the model, they achieve delivery rates of around 1,500 to 5,500 l/min at normal pressure. In the NH variants, an additional high-pressure stage also enables extinguishing at up to 40 bar.
"We are delighted that the 20,000th pump in the N and NH series is going to the Salzburg Fire Department," says Andreas Zeller, Chief Sales Officer at Rosenbauer International AG. "Our products are developed in close cooperation with our customers, and their feedback is directly incorporated into further development. This close proximity to the fire departments is a key success factor and enables us to understand their requirements precisely. This gives rise to our commitment to continuously develop powerful and absolutely reliable technology together," emphasises Andreas Zeller.
Success since 2006
Rosenbauer set a new industry standard with the radical new development of the N and NH truck-mounted pump series in 2006. A key feature of the new generation of pumps was their ability to work at lower rotational speeds without having to accept any reduction in the delivery rate. This means the pump can be operated directly via an auxiliary drive of the vehicle's engine. The significantly reduced noise level is a major benefit for operators and was therefore a key development assumption.
Robust technology
N and NH pumps are integrated into many of Rosenbauer's vehicle concepts, such as in the Advanced Technology (AT), Modular Technology (MT), and Compact Technology (CT) series, as well as in rescue platforms. The pumps are predominantly manufactured from a lightweight aluminum alloy
alloy that combines low weight with good workability. Pumps made from gunmetal are also used for special operating conditions such as seawater or very polluted water.
Flexible drive systems
Depending on customer requirements, the pumps can have different drive system concepts, such as PTO auxiliary drive, hydraulic drive, or separate engine. Other features are a piston priming pump with automatic priming system, integrated foam proportioning systems such as FIXMIX or HP-FIXMIX, and the Rosenbauer RBC LCS Logic Control System for intuitive operation.
