Today, 19 February 2026, Hidroelectrica signed the contract for the turnkey implementation of the "Țara Hațegului Photovoltaic Park" project, marking a new strategic step in diversifying its generation portfolio and strengthening the company's position on the renewable energy market.

The contract, worth 24,412,390.00 lei excluding VAT, was awarded following an open tender procedure, in which four bids were submitted. Following the evaluation process, the bid submitted by the consortium ELECTRO-ALFA INTERNATIONAL S.A. and GENERAL ME.EL ELECTRIC S.R.L., with ELECTRO-ALFA INTERNATIONAL S.A. acting as consortium leader, was declared the winner.

The project involves the development of a photovoltaic park with an installed capacity of 8.9 MWp and an estimated average output of approximately 11 GWh per year. The investment will contribute to increasing renewable generation capacity, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting national and European objectives for the energy transition.

The 'Țara Hațegului Photovoltaic Park' project confirms Hidroelectrica's commitment to investing in modern, efficient green energy generation capacities and to diversifying the company's energy mix. We are focused on implementing sustainable projects that deliver long-term value to our shareholders, customers, and local communities," said Bogdan Badea, CEO of Hidroelectrica.

The project will be delivered on a turnkey basis and will include design, equipment supply, works execution, testing, commissioning, and technical assistance throughout the warranty period. The contract duration is 12 months, of which 2 months are allocated to the design phase and 10 months to execution.

With this investment, Hidroelectrica strengthens its leading position in renewable energy production in Romania, continuing its strategy of developing new renewable generation capacities that complement its hydropower portfolio.

Hidroelectrica is the largest producer of electricity from renewable sources in Romania and remains one of the most significant players in the energy sector in South-East Europe. With a portfolio of more than 6.3 GW of installed capacity in hydropower plants, combined with the Crucea wind farm, the company contributes to national energy security and to the achievement of the European Union's decarbonization targets.
