Dear Sirs:
Pursuant to what is laid down in articles 9 and 10, second paragraph of the Securities Market Law, I hereby inform you, as a material fact of Empresas CMPC S.A. ("CMPC"), that on this date, the Controlling Group informed its decision to support in all corresponding instances, the renewal as a Board member of the Company and his election as Chairman of the Board, of Mr. Bernardo Larraín Matte in the election that will take place during the upcoming ordinary shareholders' meeting in April.
The same communication informs that Mr. Luis Felipe Gazitúa Achondo will not be nominated as a Board Member for that election, and therefore, from that moment on, he will cease to be the Chairman of the Company, a position he has held since 2016. Finally, it was indicated that the remaining members of the future board to be elected at that time will be nominated in accordance with current regulations.
