Lyle Trytten
Manager of Development at Giga Metals
Mr. Trytten has more than 25 years experience in the nickel industry, and was previously General Manager, Sustainability with Sherritt International Corporation at their Alberta nickel refinery. His experience at Sherritt also includes research and development, engineering for brownfield and greenfield projects, and major project feasibility studies. Lyle has been personally involved with metallurgical operations on five continents, including a 1-year secondment to the Murrin Murrin nickel refinery in Australia (now owned by Glencore), the feasibility study for the Ambatovy mine and process plant in Madagascar, and design and commissioning of metallurgical processing facilities in the US and Indonesia.
Claudine Pagé
Senior Director, Strategic Policy Division Policy and Economics Branch Lands and Minerals Sector at Natural Resources Canada
Claudine Pagé joined the Lands and Minerals Sector at Natural Resources Canada as Senior Director of the Strategic Policy Division in 2018.
Claudine heads a division that focuses on a number of domestic priority policy areas for the mining sector, land management and earth sciences more broadly. Her team is responsible for providing analysis and policy positions on a range of areas spanning from innovation and competitiveness, regulations and environmental policy, to Northern and Indigenous priorities.
Since joining the Public Service of Canada in 2001, Claudine has held various policy positions with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), most recently, as the Senior Policy Advisor to the Deputy Minister. At AAFC, Claudine also held the role of Director of the Technical Trade Policy Directorate, as well as Deputy Director in various Divisions responsible for bilateral and multilateral agricultural trade policy issues with the Americas, Asia, and the European Union.
Claudine holds an international MBA from the University of Ottawa, and a BSc. (hons) in Agricultural Science from the University of Guelph.
