Madrid, March 9, 2026 - Vantage Towers, one of Europe's leading mobile telecommunications infrastructure companies, in collaboration with Telefonica, has increased the connectivity of the Plaza Norte 2 shopping centre, located in the north of Madrid, with the deployment of a state-of-the-art Distributed Antenna (DAS) system. Thanks to this infrastructure, the complex will have indoor 5G Standalone (SA) coverage ina shopping centre for the first time in Spain, guaranteeing a powerful, stable and high-performance signal in all its spaces.

This advancement is especially relevant because 5G Standalone operates on a fully independent 5G core network, making it possible to take full advantage of its capabilities: significantly higher download speeds, ultra-low latency, and the ability to simultaneously manage thousands of connected devices without loss of quality. In a high-density environment such as a large shopping mall, this technology is key to ensuring a seamless and seamless digital experience.

For visitors, retailers and staff, the enhancement translates into instant mobile payments, seamless streaming, faster browsing, more stable communications and access to advanced services such as interactive apps or augmented reality experiences. Located in San Sebastian de los Reyes, Plaza Norte 2 has a surface area of 147,920 m', more than 200 shops, 14 cinemas, a 35-metre dome and 6,800 parking spaces. With the new deployment, every corner of the centre - from galleries and retail to the indoor car park - will have high-performance, uninterrupted mobile coverage.
