TORONTO, Dec. 6 /CNW/ - Richmond Minerals Inc. (Richmond) reports additional assays for grab samples collected from the Halle, Quebec property (20 km east of Belleterre) near the locations of the previously announced GEOTEM airborne anomalies.
57 grab samples were collected from the limited outcrop exposures near the axes of the anomalies. Anomalous values for gold, copper, zinc, nickel, cobalt and chromium were detected in most samples. In particular, values as high as 0.14% nickel, 0.07% copper, 282 ppm cobalt, and 0.22% chromium were reported. Sulphide concentrations in most of the surface grab samples were generally less than 1%. Richmond's management believes that the anomaly source has yet to be directly viewed or sampled due to the heavy cover in the area. However, given the elevated base metal values near the anomaly source, Richmond believes that the anomaly could be a VMS massive sulphide occurrence. A review of historical assessment files indicates no definitive historical exploration work in the target area.
A follow-up program to test these anomalies is currently being planned and will include detailed ground geophysics, and diamond drilling. Warren Hawkins, P Eng., in his capacity as Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed the contents of this release. The geophysical maps of the Halle property can be viewed at Richmond's website: richmondminerals.com.
The Halle property is part of the Grenville project joint venture agreement with Fort Chimo Minerals. The Grenville project covers more than 220,000 acres of mineral rights in the central and southwest area of Quebec. Richmond Minerals, as operator, must spend $2 million over 2 years to earn a 50% interest.
