PressRelease EMP Discovers New Oil Prospect in Riau Due to Stratigraphic Exploration Innovation Jakarta, 26 January 2026 PT Imbang Tata Alam (ITA), a subsidiary of PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (EMP), has announced the successful discovery of oil from one of its latest exploration wells drilled within the Malacca Strait PSC Block on 26 January 2026. This discovery marks a strategic milestone and reinforces EMP's ongoing efforts to support the sustainability of national oil production. Initial evaluation confirms the presence of a productive reservoir interval within the Upper Sihapas Formation, with an estimated net thickness of approximately 80 feet. During the flow test, the well recorded an initial oil production rate of 350 barrels of oil per day, indicating good reservoir quality and stable flow characteristics followed by interval testing From a geological perspective, the discovery is interpreted as a stratigraphic trap, opening up further exploration opportunities for new oil reserves and resources. Edoardus Ardianto, EMP's Vice President Director & CFO, stated, " The estimated Original Oil in Place (OOIP) from the discovery based on testing is 31 million barrels, with potential incremental production of 1,000 - 1,500 barrels of oil per day from the MSTB-NW-01, through the implementation of 6 development wells within the MSTB NW well development. In addition, the MSTB-NW-01 discovery has revealed further stratigraphic potential in its surrounding area, with an estimated additional 76 million barrels of oil in place over and above the MSTB-NW-01 discovery. This will be our next exploration target in the future. " Kelik R.
