In the preparation phase, the team conducted advanced planning and specialized reviews, coordinated domestic and international resources, and ensured the timely arrival of wind turbine components and lifting equipment. With previous experience from the completed Amunet 500 MW Wind Power Project in the Gulf of Suez, they enhanced meteorological monitoring, optimized operational windows, and implemented wind and sand protection measures. The Suez Wind Energy 1.1 GW Wind Power Project is POWERCHINA's first gigawatt-scale onshore wind power project as a full engineering, procurement, and construction contractor in the MENA region, comprising 138 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 8 MW. Once completed, the project will help optimize Egypt's energy system, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and promote green, low-carbon socioeconomic development, becoming a vital step in advancing green energy cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
