Fuel Clause Charge Adjustment in September Brings Average Net Tariff 6.7% Lower than that in January 2025HK Electric announced that the company's Fuel Clause Charge (FCC) for September will be reduced further to 32.9 cents per unit of electricity from 36.7 cents in August. This marks a significant drop of 25.4% compared to the 44.1 cents in January.
With this adjustment, the average net tariff per unit of electricity which includes both the Basic Tariff and FCC, will drop by 11.2 cents or 6.7%, from 167 cents in January to 155.8 cents in September.
Taking a typical three-person household consuming 275 units of electricity a month as an example, after factoring in the Government's subsidy, the net tariff payable in September will be $281.4, down by $30.8 or 9.9%, compared to
$312.2 in January.
A spokesperson for HK Electric noted that due to ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, fuel prices could be volatile during the remaining months of the year. HK Electric will continue its efforts to manage fuel costs responsibly.
