"Today we are signing, alongside a highly reliable partner, a document that secures the optimal operation of the wind farm owned by Hidroelectrica at Crucea for the next 5 years. Together with Vestas, we will carry out maintenance works with guaranteed availability of the Vestas V112 3MW MK1a wind turbines, as well as the SCADA, PPC, and AEOS systems," said Bogdan Badea, CEO of Hidroelectrica. "We aim to accelerate the pace of investment while securing the assets we already have in operation. Maintenance is vital for maintaining the company's production capacity, which is why we carefully choose the best collaborators the market has to offer."

".We are proud to continue our collaboration with Hidroelectrica on the Crucea Nord Wind Farm in Romania, where Vestas' local team remains dedicated to operational excellence, safety, and maximizing turbine availability. This project forms part of the over 1.2 GW we currently service in the country, reinforcing our long-term commitment to our partner and to the Romanian market." said Srdan Cenic, Vice President Sales & General Manager Vestas Mediterranean East.

We remind that the contract, valued at approximately 100 million lei (excluding VAT), was awarded on October 1st following the completion of public procurement procedures. The contracted services cover a full range of predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance, remote monitoring of turbine operation, as well as the supply and installation of spare parts, while ensuring a minimum guaranteed availability of 97% for the wind turbines. The contract also includes the provision of equipment, consumables, and specialized personnel necessary for the proper functioning of the wind farm.

The Crucea Wind Farm, with an installed capacity of 108 MW, was acquired by Hidroelectrica in 2021, representing the first merger and acquisition process carried out in Romania by a state-owned company. Hidroelectrica owns and operates the Crucea Nord Wind Farm, which has been in operation since 2014.

Currently, Hidroelectrica is the largest producer of renewable energy in Romania, managing a portfolio of 188 hydroelectric plants with a total capacity of 6.4 GW, as well as the Crucea wind farm with 108 MW installed.
