In light of recent media articles with titles such as "Hidroelectrica raises electricity prices," we would like to provide several clarifications to ensure accurate information for the public and our customers.
Hidroelectrica has not changed the price of active energy as stated in its commercial offers. The increase observed in the final price billed to consumers is solely due to the rise in regulated tariffs for system services, established by Order of the Minister of Energy no. 60 of August 26, 2025, and applied by the National Power Transmission Company "Transelectrica" S.A.
These regulated tariffs are mandatory components of the final electricity price and are applied uniformly to all energy suppliers in Romania, without exception. Therefore, all electricity consumers, regardless of their chosen supplier, will see this adjustment reflected in the bills for consumption in September 2025.
Hidroelectrica supplies and bills only for active energy, the competitive component of the total electricity price. The other components - transmission and distribution tariffs, ancillary service charges, regulated contributions, and VAT - are established through legislative acts and regulations issued by the competent authorities (the National Energy Regulator - ANRE and the Ministry of Energy) and are beyond the company's control.
Hidroelectrica remains committed to providing its customers with clean energy at competitive and transparent prices.
