RICHMOND, BC, Aug. 24 /CNW Telbec/ - Tagish Lake Gold Corp. (TSX.V - TLG)
is pleased to report on the assay results received for holes SC06-54 to
SC06-56. These holes are part of the program to outline the Rainbow Two Zone,
and to test the Ridge, Zone 2 and Kuhn mineralized zones.

Drill hole SC06-54 was collared at the same location as Hole SC06-53 (See
News Release of August 11, 2006) to intercept the Rainbow Two zone above this
hole.
Holes SC06-55, drilled to the north (i.e. in the opposite direction of the
other drilling) to test the area indicated a geologic pattern similar to the
south. There could be excellent opportunity for mineralized zones, and
additional exploration to the north is warranted.
Holes SC06-56 was drilled on a section located some 40 metres east of
Holes SC06-52 to SC06-54.
The significant intercepts are:

Robert Rodger, President of Tagish Lake Gold Corp. said, "Holes SC06-54
and SC06-56 confirm that the Rainbow Two zone extends to the end of the
current underground workings, and these results provide the justification to
drive these workings further into the mountain at a future date to open up new
areas at Skukum Creek. Drilling continues to define the Rainbow Two zone,
discovered in 2003."
The 2006 drilling program is under the supervision of Christopher Naas,
P.Geo, of CME Managing Consultants Inc., a qualified person under NI 43-101.
The core is sawed in half, with one half stored for future reference. Sampling
and assaying procedures are subject to a rigorous QA/QC program, which
includes insertion of standards and blanks for each batch of samples. All
samples were shipped in sealed packages to Eco-Tech Laboratories in Kamloops,
BC for preparation and analyses. Samples which returned values greater than
900 ppb Gold (Au) by ICP were fire assayed for gold.
