VANCOUVER, March 14 /CNW/ - Ross River Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: RRM) (the
"Company") is pleased to announce the results of drill hole eight of the
current drilling program which commenced in October 2005 on the Cerro Colorado
porphyry copper target. Hole eight averaged 70.61 metres of 0.27% copper from
1.5 to 72.11 metres, including 53.55 metres of 0.33% copper from 1.5 to 55.05
metres, 24.32 metres of 0.40% copper from 1.5 to 25.82 metres and 16.52 metres
of 0.60% copper from 19.60 to 33.42 metres. The hole was drilled at -54
degrees at 018 azimuth at an elevation of 641 metres.
Extensive alteration was detected throughout the hole. The hole was
anomalous in copper throughout the 290.78 metres drilled. Analyses of core
samples were carried out by ALS Chemex in North Vancouver. Sample intervals
generally ranged from 1.5 to 3 metres in length with variations determined by
geological boundaries. Quality control procedures included the insertion of
blanks and standards at 20 sample intervals and a systematic reanalysis of
duplicate samples at 20 sample intervals. Quality control was monitored by
Kennecott Exploration Company.
Summaries of results are for samples containing 1000 ppm copper or
greater, or averages over larger intervals containing samples of greater than
1000 ppm copper. Four sample intervals exceed 0.5% copper, including one
sample returning 1.22% copper. The Company will post on its website a detailed
list of analyses from this hole. Uwe Schmidt P.Geo. is the qualified person
managing the drill program.
The Company continues to be encouraged by the drill results received to
date. Results from holes nine through eleven will be released as they become
available.
