VANCOUVER, Feb. 3 /CNW/ - Ross River Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: RRM) (the
"Company") is pleased to announce the results of the first seven holes of the
first phase of drilling conducted on its Cerro Colorado porphyry copper
target.
The 2005 drilling program was designed to test geophysical (IP) anomalies
on the Cerro Colorado target area. The drill holes are widely spaced and
represent only the first tests of these targets. Copper mineralization and
extensive alteration were detected in all holes. Analyses of core samples were
carried out by ALS Chemex in North Vancouver. Sample intervals were generally
two metres in length with variations determined by geological boundaries.
Quality control procedures included the insertion of blanks and standards at
20 sample intervals and a systematic reanalysis of duplicate samples at 20
sample intervals. Quality control was monitored by Kennecott Exploration
Company.
Summaries of results are presented below for samples containing 1000 ppm
Cu or greater, averages over larger intervals containing samples of greater
than 1000 ppm Cu and samples containing greater than 1 g/T Au or 32 g/T Ag
(grams/metric tonne). Thirteen sample intervals exceed 0.5% copper, including
3 samples with greater than 1% copper, with the highest assay returning 1.56%
copper. Two samples contained greater than 1 g/T Au and 4 samples returned
greater than 32 g/T silver.

Partial analyses are reported for holes CC05-06 and CC05-07. An
additional 90 samples from these holes have been shipped to the laboratory for
assay. The Company will post on its website a detailed list of analyses from
these holes. Uwe Schmidt P.Geo. is the qualified person managing the drill
program.
The Company is very encouraged by the results from this initial program
and is presently drilling further copper targets in the Cerro Colorado area.
