Unit Covers Local and Regional Rail and Bus Network
TORONTO, Sept. 28 /CNW/ -- ComnetiX(TM) Inc
(Toronto: CXI), a leading provider of biometric identification and
authentication solutions, announced that it will install its advanced,
software-centric solutions in the police unit of a large northeastern United
States metropolitan public transit system. The contract, valued at
approximately US $185,000, is for a full suite of unique, biometric technology
business automation solutions, including the ComnetiX IntelliServ(TM) open
image server, its IntelliBook(TM) solution with integrated mug shot and
web-based investigative capabilities, as well as various hardware components
and maintenance for its live scan systems. This order from the Company's
newest customer within a firmly established geographic area augments an
already significant installed base.
James P. Scullion, ComnetiX CEO, commented, "Once again our solutions are
selected due to their highly scalable open architecture and ability to be
integrated very easily into legacy systems. What's more, our software
solutions can be integrated with new technology as it become available. This
is important to our customers because as they attempt to scale-up the
technology behind their respective security systems, it is imperative that
each of their systems is able to speak with one another, internally, as well
as with those outside their respective agencies. Our IntelliServ enables this
aspect of the network.
"This vast public transportation system is scaling up its security and
anti-terrorism systems -- and we are proud to have had our arrest/booking and
criminal investigative solution chosen in support of this initiative. We look
forward to supporting this agency in its efforts."
Part of the system will be deployed within the agency's headquarters,
while the remaining components will be installed in several of its regional
offices. The Company's web-based investigative module will allow the police
unit to access, search and share information with six other IntelliServ open
image server environments, already installed at multiple city-, county- and
state-based law enforcement agencies.
Scullion said that installation of the system in the agency's remote
districts is expected to be complete by the end of the fall 2005. He also
noted that additional orders for the Company's solutions are expected for the
remaining districts pending budget allocations.
About IntelliBook(TM) and IntelliServ(TM)
The ComnetiX(TM) Repository for Integrated Criminalistic Imaging,
IntelliBook(TM) is a full featured suite of advanced software for automated
booking and investigative support in law enforcement and criminal justice
applications. The IntelliBook software family allows law enforcement agencies
to efficiently manage the complex process of collecting, editing, submitting,
and retrieving biometric data records for arrested subject processing and for
employment/permit criminal history record checks. The contemporary,
open-systems architecture of IntelliBook enables the rapid evolution of system
business rules that is required to maintain concurrency with ever-changing
State and Federal laws and court decisions. Using the field-proven
IntelliBook system, ComnetiX law enforcement clients have performed
significant re-engineering of their arrest and background check processing to
achieve improved criminal history accuracy and speed response to
identification inquiries, enhancing public safety through more expeditious and
equitable administration of justice.
ComnetiX(TM) leads the biometric industry with its versatile Open Image
Server technology, known as IntelliServ(TM). This contemporary database
technology expands capabilities well beyond traditional transient "Store and
Forward" (S&F) systems by providing a full range of functionality from record
queuing to archival storage of records in standards compliant format. The
IntelliServ system is designed to intercede in the work flow between civil
applicant and booking workstations (where fingerprints, photos, signatures and
document images are captured) and the back-end Automated Fingerprint
Identification Systems (AFIS) at central agency sites. ComnetiX IntelliServ
normally accepts NIST encoded electronic submissions from remote capture
workstations and stores all of the received images and text according to open
standards. It can then deliver fingerprint records to one or more AFIS hosts
and retain records to make them available for secure agency data sharing and
ad hoc investigation support.
