The General Meeting proceeded with the distribution of the available profit of CHF 224.5 million. CHF 46.8 million of this was distributed among the public shareholders and the over 15,000 private and institutional shareholders. The General Meeting approved a dividend of CHF 6.50, which remains unchanged compared with last year's. The shareholders also agreed to amend the Bank's Articles of Association to comply with the new law on companies limited by shares. They also approved the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report.
Well-equipped to face new risksManuel Leuthold, Chairman of the Board of Directors, emphasised that the Bank had successfully weathered last year's economic uncertainty keeping credit default rates at historically low levels. He also spoke of a new risk banks increasingly had to deal with, namely their dependence on IT service providers. To tackle this challenge, BCGE has acquired an 11% stake in Finnova, one of Switzerland's leading providers of banking software.
Nicolas Krügel, Chairman of the Executive Board, commented on the remarkable results achieved by the Bank thanks to a strong business performance, while maintaining a diversified risk profile. He also pointed out the Bank's growth in business volume (+7% for loans and +5% for assets under management), its performance with a cost/income ratio of 51.6%, its solidity with an equity coverage ratio that remains at 16.7% as well as BCGE's resilience and its continued efforts in the area of ESG, which are explained in the CSR report published alongside the annual report.
Simona Terranova joins the Board of DirectorsSimona Terranova was elected to the Board of Directors as the representative of the shareholders other than the public authorities and takes the place of Michèle Costafrolaz. Ms Terranova is a founding partner of MT Finance (Suisse) SA, a company specialising in finance, risk management and compliance for companies regulated by FINMMA. She has been working for leading financial audit and consultancy firms for more than 20 years.
The Bank's 32nd Ordinary General Meeting is scheduled for 28 April 2026.
