Jakarta, 29 December 2015 - Bank Mandiri will provide banking services to PT Pos Indonesia to improve the efficiency of its cash management function. The service-provision agreement was signed by PT Pos Indonesia CEO Gilarsi W. Setijono and Bank Mandiri Vice CEO Sulaiman A. Arianto in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday (Dec 29). Through this new partnership, Bank Mandiri will provide cash-management services to PT Pos Indonesia, including services related to liquidity, payments handling, fund and account management, cash management facilities, and the provision of banking services to employees and business partners of PT Pos Indonesia. According to Bank Mandiri Vice CEO Sulaiman A. Arianto, the collaboration reflected synergy and support on the part of Bank Mandiri for the success of PT Pos Indonesia's business. 'We expect that these Mandiri banking services will help PT Pos Indonesia to address the business challenges that lie ahead, especially in the freight forwarding, logistics and finance arenas,' said Sulaiman. The synergies forged by Bank Mandiri and PT Pos Indonesia have generated a number of business expansion ventures, such as the establishment of a joint venture bank with PT Taspen. Bank Mandiri also provides financial services to employees and pensioners of PT Pos Indonesia, which currently has some 26 thousand employees and 16 thousand pensioners. Currently, Sulaiman continued, Bank Mandiri provides cash management services to more than 14 thousand customers, with the total number of transactions from the start of 2015 until the end of October reaching 45.4 million, up 47.9% from the previous year. 'We want to be a partner to corporations in Indonesia so that they can grew and develop. To that end, we will continue to develop the quality of our services in order that more corporations in Indonesia, both private and state-owned enterprises, can avail of our banking services,' said Sulaiman.
