About this update from Pt Bank Mandiri (persero) Tbk
Jakarta, 15 December 2015 - Bank Mandiri has introduced a tax payment service using its Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machines in order to help boost tax revenues. During the initial stage, Bank Mandiri will install 15 EDCs for tax payment purposes at tax offices designated by the Directorate General of Taxation. A ceremony to test the new system involved Bank Mandiri customers and Bank Mandiri Deputy CEO Sulaiman A. Arianto. The event, which was witnessed by the Ministry of Finance's Directorate General of Budgeting, Askolani, took place in Jakarta on Tuesday (15/12). Sulaiman said that the installation of the EDCs was part of the collaboration between the Ministry of Finance and the banking sector to develop the Second Generation State Revenue Module (MPN G2) system to facilitate the making of payments to the state in the form of tax and non-tax revenues. Consequently, he said, the EDCs can also handle non-tax revenue and excise payments. 'Bank Mandiri is fully aware of the importance of taxes to finance government projects. So, we expect this step to further encourage increased taxpayer participation in the development process,' said Sulaiman. He said that Bank Mandiri was one of the banks assigned to accept payments to the state, in both rupiah and foreign currency, through the MPN G1 system. In addition to the use of EDCs, he explained that payments could also be made through the Bank's network of 2,437 branches across Indonesia, as well as its e-channel networks, including ATMs, Internet Banking and Mandiri Cash Management. Customers could also make such payments 24/7, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. As of the end of October 2015, some 2.8 million transactions involving payments to the state were conducted through Bank Mandiri, with the total amount involved standing at Rp 263.12 trillion.
