Mr. Van Nieuwenhuyse was appointed to serve as President, Chief Executive Officer, and director of the Company effective January 6, 2020. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Trilogy Metals Inc. from January 2012 until December 2019. Between May 1999 and January of 2012, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of NOVAGOLD, Inc, a company that he founded. He served as the Vice President of Exploration for Placer Dome from 1990 to 1997. Mr. Van Nieuwenhuyse holds a Candidature degree in Science from Université de Louvain, Belgium and a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Arizona. Mr. Van Nieuwenhuyse currently serves on the board of directors of Alexco Resource Corp. He served on the board of directors of Sandfire Resources America, Inc. (formerly, Tintina Resources Inc.) from 2008 until 2016. Mr. Van Nieuwenhuyse has over forty years of experience in the minerals mining industry and brings significant industry and technical knowledge to the Company.

Geologist with over 15 years experience in exploring for gold, base metals, and geothermal resources. Former Senior Geologist for Kinross Gold corporation, responsible for greenfields project generation and advanced property evaluation in Nevada. Previous roles with NovaGold, Tintina Resources, and Ram Power working on diverse resource projects from Central America to Alaska.

Geologist with over 25 years of diverse mineral exploration, development and capital market experience. A founder, and former CEO of GoldQuest Mining Corp., focused on exploration in the Dominican Republic. Previously VP – Greenfields Exploration for Kinross Gold with global mandate to develop new exploration ideas. Founder & Chairman of Headwater Gold focused on exploration in Nevada, Idaho & Oregon. Lived and worked in Australia, Canada, Bolivia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Chile and the Dominican Republic.

Mr. Mazumdar joined Exploration Insights in December 2015 and soon became the sole editor, succeeding Brent Cook. His prior experience includes six years as a Senior Mining Analyst at Haywood Securities and Canaccord Genuity in Vancouver, six years as Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development at Newmont Corp. (Denver), and over three years as a Senior Market Analyst/Commodity Trader at Phelps Dodge (now Freeport McMoRan, Phoenix). Before his career as a mining market analyst, Mr. Mazumdar spent over a decade as an exploration geologist for IAMGOLD, North Minerals, and RTZ in South America (Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Ecuador), MIM Exploration in Queensland, Australia, and Noranda and other companies in Western Canada (British Columbia, Yukon) and Nunavut. Mr. Mazumdar holds a BSc in Geology (1988) from the University of Alberta, an MSc in Geology and Mining (1995) from James Cook University (Queensland), and an MSc in Mineral Economics (2003) from the Colorado School of Mines.
