Brett is a high-energy, entrepreneurial natural resources executive with over 34 years of expertise in mining and metals. He has a unique background in mining M&A, mine financing, mine development, and senior level operations experience. He brings publicly listed CEO experience in the mining sector, as well global operational experience – with a geographic focus in the last 15 years in Africa.
In the past 35 years of his career in mining and metals, Brett has lived in Canada, United States, England, Chile, Brazil, Russia and in 4 African counties.
Brett is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Goldshore Resources (TSXV:GSHR).
Previously, Brett has held leadership positions for both listed and private mining / natural resources companies. He has held positions for private equity shareholders in the past including: Chairman and CEO, Banro Corporation Ltd., CEO of Midnight Sun Mining, Chairman and CEO, African Thunder Platinum; CEO Renew Resources; and CEO, BSG Resources and CEO Octéa Limited. With respect to publicly listed companies, Brett was formerly the transition CEO of Roxgold (TSX:ROG) through a successful shareholder proxy battle; was CEO of Avocet Mining plc (LSE & AIM), and was part of the five (5) person start-up of Katanga Mining Limited (TSX:KAT). Brett’s other publicly listed experience was in senior executive positions with Kinross Gold (TSX:K) and Co-Steel Inc. (TSX:CEI).
Brett has significant public Board and Board Committee experience both in Canada, United Kingdom, Norway, Frankfurt and Johannesburg. Brett is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors in London; a member of Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technologists and (O.A.C.E.T.T. - Mechanical Engineering); a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (P.D.A.C), and has been published in the field of strategic mine management. Brett is a graduate of Durham College – Mechanical Engineering, Production Management and is a graduate in Management Engineering of Cornell University – Johnson School of Business, Masters of Business Administration - Magna Cum Laude. He is currently the principal of Richards Enterprises Inc. (CI).
Andrew Dinning
Managing Director & CEO at Sarama Resources
Andrew is a founder and the Managing Director and CEO of Sarama Resources Ltd. Andrew is committed to development in Africa and is a board member of The Australia-Africa Minerals & Energy Group (AAMEG), a peak body representing Australian companies engaged in the development of Africa’s resource industry.
Andrew has over 30 years experience in the international mining arena having worked in the Democratic Republic of Congo, West Africa, UK, Russia and Australia. He has extensive mine management, operations and capital markets experience and has spent most of his career in the gold sector. Andrew was a director and President of DRC based Moto Goldmines Ltd from 2005 to 2009. He oversaw development of the company’s Moto Gold Project (Kibali Gold) from 2 million to +22 million ounces of gold, taking the project from exploration to pre-development prior to the $600 million takeover by Randgold Resources and AngloGold Ashanti in October 2009.
Mr Dinning has a MBA, a First Class Mine Managers Certificate (Western Australia and South Australia) and a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) degree.

Luke Alexander
President, CEO & Director at Newcore Gold
Luke Alexander brings extensive resource sector experience, knowledge and contacts to Newcore, particularly in West Africa. He has raised billions of dollars and structured deals for major mining companies while advising some of the world’s top institutional investment funds. Mr. Alexander began his investment banking career in the private client group at BMO Nesbitt Burns in Toronto, then started up an equity trading desk for Toronto Dominion in London before doing the same for National Bank. In 2008, he became senior partner at GMP Securities in London. Throughout his investment banking career, he helped fund many major resource projects in West Africa. In 2018, Mr. Alexander founded Park Road Capital, a Vancouver-based, natural resource focused consulting company where he continued to leverage his relationships in London.
Jeremy South
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Steppe Gold
Jeremy was a director of Steppe Gold from March 2017 until his appointment as CFO in July 2018. He has over 35 years of experience in M&A, including senior positions in investment banking at Deutsche Bank, NatWest Markets and Deloitte. He also has over 11 years of experience working in Mongolia. Jeremy is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Monash University (Australia). He holds the ICD.D designation as a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
