Stefan Ioannou, Ph.D., is an Analyst covering mining for Cormark Securities Inc.’s institutional equity research team. Dr. Ioannou is a mining engineer and holds a Ph.D. in economic geology from the University of Toronto. He joined Cormark in December 2016, working in equity research for 13 years with Haywood Securities as a base metals analyst since 2006. Prior to that, Dr. Ioannou worked as an exploration geologist in Nevada and throughout the Canadian Shield.
Tony Giardini is the President and Chief Executive officer of Trilogy Metals. Mr. Giardini was President of Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. from May 2019 to March 2020 and was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Kinross Gold Corporation from December 2012 to April 2019.He was Chief Financial Officer of Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. from May 2006 to April 2012. Prior to joining Ivanhoe Mines Ltd., Mr. Giardini spent more than 10 years with Placer Dome Inc. as Vice President and Treasurer. Mr. Giardini is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Certified Public Accountant and spent 12 years with accounting firm KPMG prior to joining Placer Dome Inc.
Dr. West-Sells has over 25 years experience in the mining industry. After obtaining his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in Metallurgical Engineering, he worked with BHP, Placer Dome, and Barrick in increasingly senior roles in Research and Development and Project Development.
Dr. West-Sells has worked for Western Copper and gold since 2006, where he has held a number of technical and executive positions, and is now the President and CEO overseeing the day to day operations of the company.
Dr. West-Sells sits on the Yukon Minerals Advisory Board, the Board of the Yukon Mining Alliance and is also on the Centre for Northern Innovation in Mining Governing Council.
Formerly General Manager at Rio Tinto working with Rio Tinto’s copper and diamond operations. Also held the position of Executive Vice Presiden Business Development for the streaming company Sandstorm Gold. Director of Silver One Resources and former director of Kennady Diamonds, leading the $176m sale of the company to Mountain Province as chair of the special committee of the board.

Actually in the news today, copper has hit over 410 a pound, Speaker 2: which is almost a 9 year high because Chile had to close its border, the number 1 exporter of copper. So copper very much in the news, and we've got an excellent panel today with some seasoned veterans.
