Can You Communicate Too Much?

Bianca Pisciola is a co-founder and CRO of 6ix, a capital markets technology platform. Through 6ix, she has deployed data-driven investor relations technology for more than 100 public mining companies, including Endeavour Mining and McEwen Mining. Bianca is on the founding team of Save Canadian Mining, an advocacy group dedicated to reinstating the tick test within Canadian capital markets. Other members of the founding team include Eric Sprott, Rob McEwen, Keith Neumeyer, Sean Roosen, and other leaders of industry. She also sits on the board of One Silver Lining, a Canadian non-profit organization she founded, supporting youth through conferences, benefit concerts, TEDx talks, and scholarships.

Mal Karwowska has over 15 years of experience in the mining sector, spanning both corporate development and investor relations roles within publicly listed mining companies, as well as corporate finance and principal investing. She spent the first five years of her career at National Bank Financial as a member of the investment banking team, focused on the metals and mining sector. Her prior principal investing roles include Investment Manager at Pacific Road Capital Management, a mining-focused private equity investment firm with approximately US$800 million under management, and Senior Investment Research Analyst at Boston-based Liberty Metals & Mining Holdings, LLC, a subsidiary of Liberty Mutual Insurance. Ms. Karwowska’s prior corporate experience includes Business Development Director at Oxygen Capital Corp., where she worked closely with the management team on the sale of True Gold Mining Inc. to Endeavour Mining Corporation in the spring of 2016. Prior to joining Newcore Gold she served as VP, Corporate Development at First Mining Gold Corp. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Accounting from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.

Ms. Welyki has more than 15 years of experience working with public and private mining companies, including Calico Resources and EMC Green Group S.A. She has broad knowledge of the mining industry, including financing, permitting, and stakeholder management and has worked across the United States, Peru and Canada.

Ms. Pickering has 20 years of experience in the exploration and mining industry working closely with a number of Canadian public companies in various investor relations roles. Currently, in her role as Manager of Investor Relations for Orezone Gold Corporation, a junior producer operating the Bomboré Gold Mine in Burkina Faso, she helps the Company organize its forward-facing communications and marketing endeavors. Prior to Orezone, Ms. Pickering was the Manager, Corporate Communications and Development at IDM Mining Ltd. until its acquisition in March 2019. Previous to IDM, Ms. Pickering worked with ATAC Resources Ltd. for over seven years as the Manager of Corporate Communications and before that, she managed corporate communications at Laurentian Goldfields Ltd. and StrataGold Corporation. Ms. Pickering is also a director of Commander Resources.
