Update on Kasagiminnis Lake Drill Program
TORONTO, Ontario CANADA, August 15, 2011 /FSC/ - Trillium North Minerals Ltd. (TNM - TSX Venture), ("Trillium") announced today that its partner Manicouagan Minerals Inc. ("Manicouagan") has provided an update on the Kasagiminnis Lake Drill Program first announced July 13, 2011. The Property is located approximately 25 kilometres southwest of the past producing Dona Lake Mine, south of Pickle Lake, Ontario.
In late July 2011, Manicouagan completed a follow-up diamond drill program on its Kasagiminnis Lake Project to test for the down-dip extension of the encouraging results from the drill program carried out in April of this year. The current drill program consisted of five holes KAS-11-10 to 14 totaling 1,095.3 metres. Four holes (KAS-11-11 to 14) all intersected the mineralized zone at depth. Assay results are expected by the end of August. Hole KAS-11-10 had to be abandoned due to ground conditions.
The previous drill program consisted of nine holes (KAS-11-01 to 09) totalling 964 metres that were drilled to test a 250 metre interval along the 1,300 metre long gold bearing zone. Assay results reported, included 6.60 g/t over 7.9 metres in hole KAS-11-04 (see Trillium Press Release dated June 1, 2011 for all the results).
Exploration programs on Manicouagan's Pickle Lake Gold Projects are carried out under the supervision of Mr. Bruce W. Mackie, P.Geo. Mr. Mackie, a professional geologist, has reviewed and verified the technical content of the information contained in this release and qualifies under the definition of "Qualified Person" set out in National Instrument 43-101.
Trillium also has joint venture agreements in place covering 5 other properties in which other parties are working to earn an interest. These include two other Pickle Lake Gold properties, two West Shebandowan Gold properties, and the Seagull Nickel-Platinum Property. The Company has just completed a five hole drill program on its west Porcupine Gold Property for which results are pending.
