Jun. 21, 2011 (Filing Services Canada) -- Trillium North Minerals Ltd. (TNM - TSX Venture),is pleased to announce initial results from the first of a five hole drill program (see Trillium NR June 13, 2011) on its wholly-owned West Porcupine Gold property 40 km. southwest of downtown Timmins. Historically the 1994 drill program intersected a high grade 43.44 grams gold/tonne over 1.5m within a wider zone of gold mineralization in hole 94-18, which we have named the "Discovery Zone". A second intercept was also encountered in the 94-18 hole of 6.65 grams gold /tonne over 2m, which we call the Lava Zone, located approximately 25m to the north of the Discovery Zone. The first hole of the 2011 campaign (DF11-1) has intersected these same two zones at a depth of 12m below the 6.65 gram section, and 25m and below the 43.44 gram intersection respectively.
Another historic hole from 1995, hole 95-23, 110m beneath hole 94-18 intersected 20.4 g/1.8m (0.6 oz gold /6 ft.) within the same host rock as the Discovery Zone. It is not known at this time whether the 95-23 hole also hit the Lava zone or not, but as there is a strong possibility it was present but not recognized, the Company is actively attempting to recover all old core from this project for review. The current hole DF11-1 intersected both zones and the significant results are included in the table below.

The host rock of the Lava Zone is a distinctive basalt lava that has been bleached to a tan-cream colour and is a possible flow top breccia. Mineralization is disseminated pyrite with narrow quartz veinlets infilling the brecciated texture in the lava unit. This setting can be seen at many mines in Timmins and Larder Lake, namely the Bell Creek and the Kerr Addison (flow ore).
The host rock for the Discovery Zone is sericite-carbonated altered volcanic, with fine grained pyrite.
As a result of this hole, the zones are now known to dip north at 77 degrees and using holes DF11-01, with 94-18 and 94-23, a 110 m vertical height can be projected in this section (5500E). Both zones are open.
Drilling will be continued using this information to the east and west, to expand both the Discovery and Lava Zones.
The first hole serves to help us accomplish our first goal, of determining the dip, strike and plunge of the gold zone, now "zones". Management is also very encouraged by the geological setting which is not just a quartz vein, but a distinctive lava horizon that has width potential and may be extensive along strike within this classic volcanic assembly. The presence of silicified porphyry within the vicinity of these gold zones may also be a positive addition to the setting. Further results will be published as they become available.
The project is being supervised by R. S. Middleton P. Eng. who is responsible for the quality control of sampling and assaying, as well as direction of the drilling and drill hole pattern and who is acting as the qualified person for the Company under the rules of NI 43-101.
Assaying will be done by fire assay FA with an "AA" atomic absorption finish by ALS Chemex, with sample preparations carried out in their facility On behalf of the board of directors in Timmins, Ontario and assaying completed in their North Vancouver, B.C., facility.
Trillium also has joint venture agreements in place covering 5 properties in which other parties are working to earn an interest. These include three Pickle Lake Gold properties, two West Shebandowan Gold properties, and the Seagull Nickel-Platinum Property. The Company will update its shareholders on these properties as results become available.
