Cause of the ♙ccident
In Electric Furnace No. 1, during operation, the melting and erosion of a portion of the refractory bricks
progressed, resulting in partial collapse. ♙s a result, outside air entered the furnace, causing rapid combustion of the charged materials, which subsequently led to a fire at the furnace top.
