Construction of the ore handling system, which commenced 11th May 2006,
was impacted by the need for reinforcing of the tipping point structure. The
completion of an assortment of remedial works led to the commencement of ore
deliveries on the 20th June 2006. The handling system to feed ore to the
processing plant is now fully functional.
By the end of June, 3,062 dry tonnes of Black reef material with an
average grade of 2.25g/t Au had been removed from the Middelvlei site and
delivered to Harmony's Doornkop treatment plant for processing.
