SoftBank Group Corp. said Wednesday its net profit for fiscal 2025 surged more than fourfold to 5.00 trillion yen ($31.70 billion), on the back of its investment in OpenAI, the developer of artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT.
Sales for the year ended March were up 7.7 percent at 7.80 trillion yen.
The Japanese investment and technology group does not release earnings forecasts.
