TORONTO, Sept. 4 /CNW/ - Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation (TSX:SC) is pleased to announce the addition of an enhanced rewards tier to the Company's popular Shoppers Optimum loyalty card program. On September 6th, more than 100,000 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix customers will be automatically enrolled into the Shoppers Optimum PLUS program, giving them access to incremental rewards and exclusive offers.

With the introduction of Shoppers Optimum PLUS, we are recognizing our most loyal customers by providing them even more rewards and benefits to thank them for shopping with us."
In addition to their current Shoppers Optimum benefits, PLUS members will enjoy instant "PLUS Points Rewards" when redeeming their Shoppers Optimum Points in-store, representing a points bonus of over 12%. Shoppers Optimum PLUS members will also receive email newsletters informing them of exclusive promotions including bonus points events, and special vendor offers.
Shoppers Optimum PLUS membership is easy to attain. Customers that accumulate 10,000 regular Shoppers Optimum Points within one calendar year will be automatically elevated to PLUS membership status. These points can be earned on thousands of products in-store, including beauty and convenience purchases, at over 1,090 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix stores across Canada. Given the popularity of the current program, it is expected that Shoppers Optimum PLUS enrolment will increase to more than 450,000 members by the end of 2008.
