PANGKALPINANG - PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen its environmental management efforts through the reclamation of post-mining land. As of the first semester of 2026, the Company has successfully reclaimed 78.21 hectares of former mining land across the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

Land reclamation is an integral part of PT TIMAH's mining operations. Through this initiative, former mining areas are rehabilitated and restored by taking environmental considerations into account while promoting sustainable land use that is expected to generate economic benefits for local communities.

One of the key reclamation efforts involves planting productive trees, fruit-bearing trees, and native plant species. This initiative is aimed not only at restoring environmental quality but also at creating long-term economic opportunities for communities surrounding the Company's operational areas.

PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk's Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, stated that reclamation is an inseparable component of the Company's mining activities and environmental management practices.

"Reclamation is an essential part of our environmental management efforts. The Company remains committed to ensuring that post-mining land is restored and utilized optimally while prioritizing environmental protection and sustainability," said Anggi.

According to him, planting productive trees has become one of PT TIMAH's primary approaches to land reclamation. The selected plant species are expected to support land restoration while delivering ecological and economic value to surrounding communities.

"In carrying out reclamation, the Company continues to encourage the development of reclaimed land so that it can provide added value for local communities. All reclamation activities are implemented in accordance with established plans and prevailing regulations," he added.

In 2025, PT TIMAH successfully completed land reclamation covering 354.05 hectares across its operational areas. The Company remains committed to implementing reclamation programs on an ongoing basis.

In addition to land reclamation, PT TIMAH also conducts marine reclamation through various initiatives, including the deployment of artificial reefs, squid and mangrove crab restocking programs, and mangrove planting.

Beyond its own reclamation programs, PT TIMAH also actively supports environmental management initiatives carried out by regional governments, community organizations, and local communities, including reforestation and tree-planting activities. (*)
