PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk continues to strengthen its culture of sustainability by enhancing employees' understanding of the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

This initiative was carried out through a webinar titled "ESG Implementation Strategies for Sustainable Mining," featuring governance and sustainability experts from the Trisakti Governance Center, namely Dr. Deni Darmawati, S.E., Ak., M.Si., CA, CSRS, CSRA, CGRCPA, CPIA, CIIQA, CIRM, and Dr. Yulia Eka Riyanti, S.Ak., M.Ak., M.M., CSRS, CSRA, CGRCPA. The hybrid event was held on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The webinar forms part of PT TIMAH's commitment to fostering awareness that ESG implementation is not only the responsibility of the company as an institution but must also become an integral part of the work culture embraced by every PT TIMAH employee.

PT TIMAH is committed to implementing ESG as a fundamental pillar of the company's long-term sustainability, encompassing environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and sound corporate governance.

From an environmental perspective, the company continues to manage the impacts of its mining operations through responsible land reclamation, sustainable environmental management, and various initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

On the social front, PT TIMAH continues to strengthen its relationship with local communities, improve occupational health and safety (OHS), and create value for its stakeholders.

From a governance perspective, PT TIMAH is committed to conducting its business in compliance with applicable regulations while upholding transparency, integrity, and accountability.

During the webinar, Dr. Deni Darmawati explained that ESG implementation is a critical strategy for creating long-term value for the company.

She explained that the Environmental pillar covers greenhouse gas emissions management, energy and water efficiency, waste management, biodiversity conservation, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Meanwhile, the Social pillar includes labor practices, occupational health and safety (OHS), diversity and inclusion, human rights, customer data security, and community development.

The Governance pillar encompasses corporate governance structures, business ethics and anti-corruption, risk management, regulatory compliance, internal control systems, and transparent reporting.

"ESG is not merely about reporting. Nearly every aspect of a company's daily operations is connected to ESG. ESG defines how we work, make decisions, and create long-term value for the company, society, and the environment," Deni explained.

She added that ESG implementation is no longer viewed simply as a means of complying with regulations. Instead, it has become a strategic approach for companies to manage risks, enhance competitiveness, and respond to the growing demands of the global market for sustainable business practices.

According to her, implementing ESG will provide PT TIMAH with numerous strategic benefits, including broader access to global markets, greater opportunities for financing, improved operational efficiency, a stronger corporate reputation, and long-term business sustainability.

Meanwhile, Dr. Yulia Eka Riyanti presented the pillars of sustainability and provided an overview of PT TIMAH's 2025 sustainability performance across various indicators. (*)
