BELITUNG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk has handed over the Tanjung Pendam Beach tourism area asset to the Belitung Regency Government. The transfer and management certainty of the asset were marked by the signing of the Reconciliation Minutes for Former PT TIMAH Tbk Assets in the Tanjung Pendam tourism area on Wednesday (September 9, 2026).

The signing was attended by PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk President Director Restu Widiyantoro, Belitung Regent Djoni Alamsyah Hidayat, Head of the Bangka Belitung Islands High Prosecutor's Office Riono Budisantoso, and members of the Belitung Regency Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

The asset transfer marks an important step in providing legal certainty for the Tanjung Pendam area while opening opportunities for the Belitung Regency Government to move forward with plans to revitalize and develop the tourism area.

PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk President Director Restu Widiyantoro said resolving the status of the Tanjung Pendam asset is part of efforts to ensure that state-owned assets can deliver broader benefits.

According to him, PT TIMAH currently manages a number of state-owned assets, some of which have reached a stage where they can be utilized through partnerships or managed more optimally.

He welcomed the agreement reached between PT TIMAH and the Belitung Regency Government regarding the size and boundaries of the Tanjung Pendam asset. With this certainty in place, the area is expected to be developed in accordance with its intended purpose and provide added value for both the region and the community.

"The goal, of course, is to improve the welfare of our communities and ensure that these assets can provide shared benefits for all parties," Restu said.

Meanwhile, Belitung Regent Djoni Alamsyah Hidayat said legal certainty over the Tanjung Pendam asset provides the local government with greater flexibility to move forward with its development plans for the area.

"Now that the legal status is clear, there is no longer any uncertainty about our ability to collaborate going forward, including with the private sector," Djoni said.

Djoni added that the Belitung Regency Government has prepared a development design for the Tanjung Pendam area as part of the implementation of the central government's Integrated City Planning (ICP) program.

The development plan will involve several ministries and government agencies, including the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas). Discussions will also cover financing schemes for the area's development.

The Belitung Regency Government is targeting the start of development in the Tanjung Pendam area in 2027, after all legal processes related to the asset have been completed through the certification stage.

"Hopefully, we will be able to begin development in 2027," he said.

Head of the Bangka Belitung Islands High Prosecutor's Office Riono Budisantoso explained that the Tanjung Pendam asset had previously been transferred by PT TIMAH to the Belitung Regency Government through a grant mechanism.

However, the asset certification process had not been completed. When certification was about to proceed, a discrepancy was discovered between the actual land area and the previously recorded data.

The discrepancy was caused by coastal abrasion, which had gradually reduced the size of the area. From approximately 15.6 hectares previously recorded, the asset area has now been agreed upon at approximately 12.2 hectares.

The discrepancy was subsequently resolved through negotiations between the Belitung Regency Government and PT TIMAH. Both parties ultimately reached an agreement on the size and boundaries of the land designated as an asset of the Belitung Regency Government.

"After going through a process of negotiations, discussions, and mutual understanding from all parties, we ultimately reached an agreement on the size and boundaries of the land being transferred," Riono said.

According to Riono, resolving the asset's status is essential to ensure that plans for the utilization and development of the area can proceed on a clear legal basis.

He expressed hope that the Tanjung Pendam development plan prepared by the Belitung Regency Government will proceed smoothly and deliver benefits to the community.
