PressRelease EMP announced oil discovery from its Bentu gas asset in Riau, Sumatera Jakarta, 14 May 2025 PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk ( " EMP " or " the Company " ) today reported that its subsidiary, EMP Bentu Limited, the operator and 100% owner of the Bentu PSC ( " Production Sharing Contract " ) block, successfully discovered the preliminary oil in place of around 20 million barrels from its Central East Napuh Deep South field ( " CEN " ). Such discovery consists of two layers of sandstone reservoir within the Lakat Formation with 43 feet thickness. The discovered oil in place was from one of the field's exploration wells, which is called the Central East Napuh 02 Deep well ( " CEN-02 " ) that has been completely drilled at 4,647 feet deep in April 2025. The Bentu PSC block is located in Riau province, Sumatera, and is primarily a gas-producing asset, with 375.6 billion cubic feet of gas reserves and contingent resources (2P + 2C) as of January 1, 2025, with production target of 93 million cubic feet of gas per day within the same year. " Tri Firmanto, EMP's Director, said, " Based on the available geological, geophysical, and reservoir data, this oil discovery has the potential to contribute approximately 1,500 to 2,500 barrels of oil per day to the overall CEN field project development. This will be achieved through the implementation of 11 planned development wells. " Edoardus Ardianto, EMP's Vice President Director, added, " The successful oil discovery within the Bentu PSC block is due to the great support from the partnership among EMP team, the Government ( " SKK Migas " ), and the other stakeholders within the surrounding area. We will continue to perform further exploration and development activities in our effort to increase the oil & gas reserves and production from our Bentu PSC asset. " Syailendra S. Bakrie, EMP's President Director, further explained, " This oil discovery in CEN-02 is a continuation of our successful exploration activity in Bentu PSC block's CEN-01 well where EMP discovered gas in place of approximately 126 billion cubic feet of gas. Our Company will continue to actively explore and develop the Bentu block PSC in our effort to increase its reserve and production.
