TORONTO, Dec. 11 /CNW/ - Luxell Technologies Inc. (TSX:LUX) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gerard M. Hartley LCol (Ret'd) as Luxell's new Vice President Business Development.
Gerard M. Hartley retired from the Canadian Forces in 1996 after a stellar career with the Canadian Forces. During his career he held positions with NORAD's Semi-Automated Ground Environment (SAGE) Programming Agency, as Chief of Space Data and Analysis Branch with US Space Command, as the Canadian Forces Assistant Deputy Commander for Operations at the 1st Space Wing, Peterson AFB, Colorado and then as the Canadian Forces Commanding Officer and Deputy Director NORAD Systems Support Facility (NSSF) at Tyndall AFB, Florida. His final responsibility in the Canadian Forces was as Wing Commander and Base Commander, CFB Gander, Newfoundland, a 500 person base.
Following his retirement, he spent a number of years in the private sector, holding positions as Managing Director, CAE Shaheen (Pvt) Ltd, a joint venture aircraft repair and overhaul company in Islamabad, Pakistan and then as a consultant to Spar Aerospace Limited, which had purchased all of CAE's aviation interests in 1998 and where he was involved in a number of strategic expansion activities designed to make Spar a global service provider in the aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul industry.
In 2001 Mr. Hartley joined Northrop Grumman Canada as a Senior Marketing Manager and remained there until Feb 2005. During that period he played an instrumental role in assisting the company capture several multi million dollar defense contracts. Since 2005, he has been providing consulting services to a number of companies working within the defense products industry, including Luxell.
As Vice President Business Development, Mr. Hartley will focus on supporting the implementation of the Company's three year business plan, customer partnerships and identifying new opportunities within the North American marketplace.
