CALGARY, May 16 /CNW/ - Jura Energy Corporation (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with Paradigm Capital Inc., on behalf a syndicate of underwriters led by Paradigm, pursuant to which the underwriters have agreed to purchase 26,100,000 common shares of Jura on a bought deal basis, at a price of $1.15 per share for aggregate gross proceeds to the Company of approximately $30.0 million (the "Offering"). The Company will file a preliminary short form prospectus in each of the provinces of Canada other than Quebec for the purpose of qualifying the common shares for distribution to the public on or before May 23, 2007 and the Offering is scheduled to close on or about June 6, 2007. The Offering is subject to certain conditions including, but not limited to, the receipt of all necessary approvals, including the approval of the Toronto Stock Exchange and the securities regulatory authorities.

The proceeds of the Offering will be used to fund the Company's 2007 and 2008 capital program and for general corporate purposes.
