Taipei, Taiwan - September 10, 2024 - Far EasTone Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (TAIEX: 4904) today announced its unaudited financial results for August. Boosted by merger synergies with Asia Pacific Telecom (APT), continued customer upgrades to 5G services, and a thriving prepaid card business, the company reported consolidated total revenue of NT$7,723 million for August, reflecting a year-over-year growth of 3.7%. Consolidated EBITDA reached a record high of NT$3,067 million, marking a 13.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Net income also experienced a solid year-over-year growth of 11.5%, amounting to NT$1,044 million, with earnings per share (EPS) at NT$0.29.
Accumulated to August this year, Far EasTone's consolidated total revenue, consolidated EBITDA, and net income grew by 13.1%, 12.6%, and 9.4% year-over-year, reaching NT$66,334 million, NT$23,891 million, and NT$8,103 million, respectively. EPS amounted to NT$2.25, reflecting outstanding operational performance.
In August 2024, Far EasTone's 5G postpaid user penetration rate reached 41.3%. Along with the steady increase in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) for postpaid users, the company achieved eight consecutive months of growth since the merger. Both the 5G postpaid user penetration rate and ARPU remained market leading position, driving an impressive 17.6% year-over-year growth in overall mobile service revenue, which consistently exceeded NT$5 billion. This marked the 42nd consecutive month of positive growth since March 2021.
