LAVAL, QC, May 15 /CNW Telbec/ - The company's management wishes to announce the deployment of its teams today, May 15, 2007, on the site of the Great Plains showing, for the purpose of starting a drilling campaign on its Normetal property located in north-western Quebec.
These operations are in follow-up to the campaign carried out in the fall of 2006, which was comprised of 3 drill holes.
Compilation of drilling results has served to identify a promising target, based on the following:
1- Description of the drilling cores revealed a chert-bearing horizon containing sulfides - a favourable indicator for locating volcanogenic massive sulfides. 2- The geophysical survey (Infinitem) that was completed on all drill holes enabled detection of a high-quality conductor, under each hole, that is believed to run continuously from the chert-bearing horizon revealed through the drilling cores.
The objective of this drilling campaign is to verify the conjunction of these geophysical and geological anomalies, by drilling two 300-metre holes under those created in the Fall 2006 campaign.
