Kern County Issues a Formal Intent to Award Notification to ComnetiX TORONTO, June 12 /CNW/ - ComnetiX(TM) Inc. (TSX:CXI), a leading provider of biometric and identification solutions, today reported that it has received a formal "Intent to Award" notification from the Kern County Sheriff's Department in California for its county wide fingerprint live scan system. Kern County selected ComnetiX from numerous respondents to a formal request for proposal issued in late summer 2005. The system is expected to consist of several components of the company's intelligent suite of software solutions including IntelliBook(TM), IntelliScreen(TM), and IntelliServ(TM) as well as multiple live scan workstations. The Intelligent Identification Environment (IIE) implementation in Kern County will give the Sheriff's Department full control of their identification workflow, county wide access to shared identification information and a high level of data security. While the specific details and scope of the county wide system are still under discussion the expected revenue for this project is expected to exceed several hundred thousand US dollars. "This award further validates our IIE strategy that provides customers with much more than just the traditional live scan hardware solution" stated ComnetiX CEO and Chairman, Bernard Crotty. "It is especially gratifying that ComnetiX was selected by this top tier law enforcement agency as their solution provider knowing that they conducted a thorough and exhaustive evaluation of all the existing technology and service providers. This is a breakthrough selection for Comnetix in the important California market. It reflects the increasing understanding and interest in our IIE products throughout the region. We expect this interest to be bolstered by this win."
