Education
Marco Keim obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration at Nyenrode University. He subsequently earned his MSc in Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. At Utrecht University, he obtained his Master of Law in 1988, followed by the post graduate accounting qualification at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 1990.
Current positions
Since 2020, Marco Keim has been CEO of Aegon International, where he is responsible for Southern Europe, Asia and Brazil.
Previous positions
Marco Keim served as CEO of Aegon Continental Europe from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, he was CEO of Aegon Nederland, where he started in 2008, and CEO of Zwitserleven from 2002 to 2008, having already held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing since 1999. He began his career as a (registered) accountant at Coopers & Lybrand Van Dien Accountants, followed by
management positions at Fokker Aircraft and NS Reizigers (part of the NS Group).
Marco Keim was a member of the Supervisory Board of Eneco Holding N.V. from 2014 to 2020.

Reason for nomination for appointment
With the appointment of Marco Keim, the Supervisory Board gains the support of an experienced professional with international insights and a sharp eye for innovation and pragmatic solutions. Marco Keim has in-depth knowledge of the insurance sector, insurance and pension products, and the markets in which a.s.r. operates. He also has knowledge of and experience with (national and international) developments in governance, sustainability, technology and risk management. Furthermore, Marco Keim has broad experience in establishing and assessing administrative organisations, internal control, compliance and risk management.
The Supervisory Board believes that Marco Keim is a valuable addition to the Supervisory Board.
