("GlobeeCom") (TSX Venture: GBC) is pleased to announce the election of Alain
Gourd as Chairman of the Board, following the shareholders' meeting that was
held in Montreal today.
Mr. Gourd, an attorney who holds a Master's degree in Philosophy from the
University of Ottawa, has more than thirty years' experience in the
communications industry. In 2003 and 2004, he served as Chairman of the Board
of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. From 2001 to 2004, he was Vice-
President, Corporate Services for Bell Globemedia, the owner of various media
outlets including CTV, The Globe and Mail and Sympatico-Lycos. Before joining
this organization, Mr. Gourd was President and Chief Executive Officer of BCE
Media. From 1994 to 1998, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer
of Cancom, a company specializing in satellite communications and broadcasting
services.
Mr. Gourd has also held key positions in the federal civil service,
including Associate Secretary to the Cabinet and Deputy Clerk of the Privy
Council (1992-1994); Deputy Minister for Public Affairs in the Federal-
Provincial Relations Office (1992); and consecutive assignments as Assistant
Deputy Minister and Deputy Minister in the Department of Communications (1982-
1992). He is currently head of his own company, Alain Gourd Communications
Inc.
In a second announcement that was made at the same time, Mrs. Jocelyne
Pelchat was confirmed as a member of GlobeeCom's Board where she will occupy
the position of vice-chairperson.
Mrs. Pelchat holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (1963) from CollGege Marie-
Anne (UniversitDe de MontrDeal), a Bachelor of Laws degree (1966) from the
UniversitDe de MontrDeal and a postgraduate degree in international law from the
London Institute of World Affairs (1968).
She was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Bank of Canada in
February 2005. Mrs. Pelchat is currently President and Chief Executive Officer
of Entreprises Pelchat Moise inc., and has also acquired extensive experience
in the media and publishing industries, as well as holding senior executive
positions with the National Film Board of Canada, Telefilm Canada, Astral Film
Enterprises and Quebecor. Mrs. Pelchat was the first woman to be named
publisher of a daily newspaper in Canada, the Journal de MontrDeal and has
served on the boards of directors of a number of companies, including Petro-
Canada, Maritime Life Assurance, National Bank Financial and Van Houtte Inc.
She is also past chair of the UniversitDe du QuDebec Ga MontrDeal. As well as
serving on the board of the Bank of Canada, she also currently serves on the
board of Groupe Pierre BelvDedGere and the Fonds d'Investissement de la Culture
et des Communications.
During the annual general meeting held on June 21, 2005, shareholders
elected Alain Dufour to the Company's board of directors. Mr. Dufour has been
serving as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of FRV Media since April
1st, 2003. He is responsible in this capacity for ensuring that the company's
financial operations are aligned with its overall strategic direction.
Mr. Dufour, who holds an MBA from the HEC Montreal, has garnered
considerable experience in media corporate management, through the various
related roles he has had over the last 12 years with various broadcasters
(TDelDe-QuDebec and SRC) and producers (CinDeGroupe) working for television.
Ken Hepburn is a Principal of Bashuk, Hepburn and Associates and a Senior
Associate with U(x)CAN Ukraine Canada Relations Inc. He provides consulting
services to clients in Canada and abroad. Prior to Ken's move to the private
sector, he was a career executive in the federal public service.
Ken Hepburn has thirty-five years experience in the federal public
service. During the period 1974 to 1993, he held a variety of executive
positions, including 13 years as an Assistant Deputy Minister. Ken's special
area of expertise is telecommunications and information technology development
and applications.
He was active in international fora such as INMARSAT, served on the Board
of Directors of Teleglobe, was a Trustee of the International Institute of
Communications (IIC), and was a member of the Advisory Committee of the Center
for Information Technology Innovation. Since leaving the federal government,
he served two years on the Board of Directors of the Civil Service COOP.
During his second year he served as the Secretary for the organization.
He holds a BASc.(Electrical Engineering) from the University of Toronto,
and a MBA from the University of Alberta.
Additionally, he served (from 1997 to 2000) as Vice-Provost,
Administration and Finances at the UniversitDe du QuDebec Ga MontrDeal.

business figures, including Yvon Cyrenne (CGE Capital); Dr. Jacques GagnDe;
Francis Fortier (Innovatech QuDebec); Alain Dufour; Carolyne Lassonde,
